Farmer Nappy, born Darryl Henry, is an internationally acclaimed Trinidadian soca artist
with a career spanning over 30 years. Known for his signature groovy soca style and energetic
performances, he has earned widespread respect and multiple awards, including the 2014
“Calypso of the Year” for Big People Party, and dual 2021 titles: Soca Monarch and Road
March winner for Backyard Jam.

He began his career as a percussionist and songwriter with the band Xtatik, collaborating
closely with Machel Montano and contributing to many of the band's major hits. Transitioning
to a solo artist, he achieved success with albums like You Make Me...Surrender (2012), Big
People Party (2014), and House of Soca (2016), released under his label Country Life Music.
Farmer Nappy gained international attention in 2012 when he was voted MTV Iggy’s “Artist of
the Week” and praised by The New Yorker. He’s known for hit songs such as Chippin’,
Surrender, Stranger, Family, My House, and Hookin’ Meh—the latter becoming a #1 hit
during the 2019 Carnival season.

His long-standing collaboration with producers De Red Boyz has led to many memorable
tracks and live performances globally. Farmer Nappy continues to represent and innovate
within the soca genre, earning recognition as a pioneer and ambassador of groovy soca
music.
